FIERY PRINT
The Fiery color laser uses a four color (CMYK) process. Because of the inherent limitation of a high speed printing device, you should take the usual precautions necessary for a four color printing process:
The Fiery RIP charge is $10.00 minimum for the first 200MB and $5.00 for each additional 100MB (in 100MB increments) measured in terms of the size of spooled print job. Failure to supply files according to our specification may result in delay and additional troubleshooting charges at $60.00 per hour.
EPSON PRINT
The Epson printer has very different needs compared to the Fiery. Epson prints work best with RGB images.
Unless you submit your file in a print-ready format such as TIFF, EPS, or PDF according to our specification, we will add a RIP surcharge of $10.00 minimum plus 10% of the normal Epson print price. Failure to supply files according to our specification may result in delay and additional troubleshooting charges at $60.00 per hour. The following file types are considered print ready:
We offer a wide variety of media for Epson prints, and we continuously keep adding to the list. However, not all kinds of media in all sizes may be readily available at a given moment. Therefore, please allow for some delay if you choose fine art or exotic media.
We do support customer supplied media, whenever possible. But please keep in mind that this facility is not offered as a cost saving measure, working with customer supplied media will be considered a special service. There is an extra charge of $200.00 with customer supplied media, because we need to test the media for compatibility and carry out a series of calibration and profiling procedures.
Unless otherwise specified, we always trim Epson prints with no border. If you need a white border around your print, you must create it in the file itself. Please keep in mind we charge by the finished print size, i.e., a 16x20 with a 2 inch border all-around will be considered to be a 20x24 print. If your print size falls between two sizes in our price list, you will be charged at the rate of the larger size, i.e., a 17x22 print (which is between 16x20 and 18x24) will be considered to be an 18x24 print for pricing purposes.
COLOR MANAGEMENT
We fully support ICC color management in our Fiery and Epson prints. We use state of the art equipment to keep our color output consistent and predictable. Please go through the Application Notes below to conform your application set up to ours. Feel free to give us a call before submitting your print job to ensure that it is prepared correctly.
SPOT COLOR MATCHING
The postscript RIPs we use for Fiery and Epson prints both support automatic Pantone color matching. There are many Pantone colors that are simply outside the gamut of any printer, especially color laser printers. However, our Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer has a large color gamut and does an excellent job of matching many of the standard Pantone colors. If you embed vector art (from Illustrator or similar applications) in your layout, please make sure both the layout and illustration applications are using the same name for the Pantone color. If you need to use Pantone colors in Photoshop, we recommend that you use Photoshop 7 or above. Use colors only from the Pantone Coated swatches. We can also match customer supplied color swatches, for an additional charge. Contact us for further details.
